Our Team has always been committed to enhancing youth outreach and engagement. To ensure that our Town’s youth maintain a seat at the table, our local elected officials, in partnership with the Democratic Committee, created the Babylon Young Dems.
The Young Dems seek to expand voter access and political awareness for the youth population in the Town of Babylon. They have partnered with Team Schaffer to host a series of events in High Schools around the Town. Through these speaking circuits, young people are having meaningful conversations with the officials that represent them along with youth organizers that seek to make a difference in our community each and every day.

We believe in the ability of individuals to inspire change. To facilitate this, the Young Dems have helped to organize a series of voter registration drives on both High School and College campuses around the Town. Additionally, the Young Dems offer career-building opportunities and give professional exposure to the world of political campaigns for members that wish to pursue a life in either political or governmental work.

In an effort to ensure that our Town’s youth continue to have a seat at the table, the Babylon Young Dems strive to put young people in positions of power. The organization welcomes members between the ages of 15 - 24 and offers many opportunities for young voices to be heard.
Our Young Dems Elevate Babylon’s youth through:
Leadership roles within the organization
Event planning and management opportunities
Facilitating internship opportunities for members
Policy Meetings with local elected officials
The Babylon Young Dems have advocated for action on issues that matter to young voters. Through their advocacy, the Young Dems have pushed for expanding mental health services and environmental initiatives on the Town level.
